NetEase sent a lawyer’s letter to Tencent, claiming that “Honor of Kings” copied the materials of “Onmyoji”.

March 22, wokoa learned from the official microblog of @NetEase Onmyoji Mobile Game that NetEase sent a lawyer’s letter to Tencent today, claiming that the latter’s “Honor of Kings” was suspected of plagiarism.

The lawyer’s letter stated that without the permission of NetEase, Tencent released materials in the game “Honor of Kings” that were suspected of infringing on the materials of NetEase’s game “Onmyoji”, including “Li Bai・Suiyue Jianxin” in “Honor of Kings” being suspected of infringing on “Susanoo” in “Onmyoji”, and the game materials of “Da Siming” in “Honor of Kings” being suspected of infringing on “SP Shenqi Huang” in “Onmyoji” and so on.

NetEase claimed that Tencent’s act of releasing materials suspected of infringing without permission is suspected of copyright infringement and unfair competition, and requires Tencent to conduct relevant investigations and handling immediately. For the act of infringement, NetEase will reserve the right to defend its rights by all legal means.
