B’s online game “The Elder Scrolls Online” has grossed $2 billion.

March 23, it was reported that “The Elder Scrolls Online” is a large-scale multiplayer online role-playing game produced by ZeniMax Online Studios and published by Bethesda. It was released on the PC platform on April 4, 2014, and then on the PS4 and Xbox One versions on June 9, 2015.

At a panel discussion at GDC 2024, Matt Firor, the game director of “The Elder Scrolls Online”, pointed out that this MMO online game has earned nearly $2 billion (Note from IT House: Currently about 14.5 billion yuan) in player spending since its release.

The theme of this seminar is “A Decade in Tamriel: The Road to Success of The Elder Scrolls Online”. The panel discussion showcased the various decision points of “The Elder Scrolls Online” along the way, highlighting the inflection points of online games, such as the “One Tamriel” update, the rename to “Tamriel Unlimited”, and the elimination of subscription fees.

Matt Firor also shared the journey of this large-scale multiplayer online game over the past decade and the key achievement data the team has achieved since developing large-scale multiplayer online games 17 years ago.

In addition to starting development in 2007, the game also supports seven platforms, but now there are only six. In response, Matt Firor even jokingly said, “Mourn for Stadia.”
